Our company is a company with a history of nearly 140 years, we started our textile manufacturing business in Kurashiki City in 1880. Currently our Okayama factory is focused on the dyeing and processing of work uniforms, artificial leathers and colored denim.

Would it be possible to upcycle unused fabric? In 2013 we launched a project to make use of unused fabric.

We though of a new way to use fabricWe asked ourselves, what is a fabric product that only we can make? Our conclusion was to create a new material. After experimenting with layering, rolling and hardening, we arrived at making it to a board. We contacted the Industrial Technology Center of Okayama Prefecture and started prototyping a laminated fabric board.

Thinking about other ways of productionWe were introduced and recieved consulting from a furniture making company, we also visited the Okayama prefectural University of design department. A collaborative research effort started the following year.
